Music Monday ~ Rita MacNeil

Rita MacNeil ~ Working Man

Released in 1990, "Working Man" was Rita's only UK Single chart success reaching Number 11. She was born in Canada, in a town called Big Pond (which is in Nova Scotia), and was a country & folk singer. Her most popular single released was "Flying On Your Own", which reached number 27 in the Canadian chart in 1987, but her biggest selling single was in 1992. "Thinking Of You" reached number 19. Rita was once the biggest selling Country singer. in 1990 she outsold Garth Brooks & Clint Black. It was recently reported that Rita passed away on 16th April following a surgical procedure. How many of you remember this song. Released in the UK, here is "Working Man".

  1. Lovely song it's one of those ones for me that i never knew the title and who sang it, such a shame to hear she passed away.
