From A Distance
Originally released by Nanci Griffiths in 1987, and covered by Cliff Richard in 1990, Bette Midler's version is today's choice for Music Monday. Her version was originally released in 1990, but failed to make it in the UK Top 40. However, upon a re-release in 1991, the single climbed to number 6. It's taken from her album "Some People's Lives", and won a Grammy in 1991 as Song Of The Year. Other singles to be released by Bette include "Wind Beneath My Wings", "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy", "The Rose", "Night & Day" & "When A Man Loves A Woman"

This is Bette Midler's best! Happy MM!
ReplyDeleteI think this is her best. Thanks for sharing on the Monday Music Moves Me.
ReplyDeleteThis was certainly a great song from her. If I recall though, a little controversy over it? Then again, maybe that was just in my household. lol
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing.
This is a lovely song by Bette. It's funny how I first knew her as a singer, then she moved into movies and discovered her hidden talent as comedy actress. Thanks for dancing with the 4M crew on Monday's Music Moves Me!
ReplyDeleteOh my! I haven't heard this one in such a long time. It has always been a longtime favorite!
